Hi, I’m Laurent de Fontenay - Psychologist Solihull

If work has pushed you past your limits, you may recognise the pattern. Exhausted but wired. Irritable with the people you care about. Anxious or low in a way that isn’t lifting.

I’m Laurent, a Counselling Psychologist and accredited CBT therapist, and much of my work is with professionals in exactly this position. I offer evidence-based therapy, in person in Solihull and online across the UK, tailored to your individual needs. My aim is to help you identify what really matters to you, and give you the tools and strategies to make positive changes in your life.

Recognised by Aviva, AXA Health, Bupa, Vitality and WPA. Sessions £110, with late afternoon and Tuesday evening appointments. Free 15-minute introductory call.

How I can help you…

At LDF Psychology, I specialise in supporting professionals experiencing work stress and burnout, and the anxiety and low mood that often follow. I also provide evidence-based therapy for a wide range of other concerns, from depression and trauma to driving or passenger anxiety, chronic health conditions, and self-esteem and confidence issues.

I offer compassionate and personalised care, whether you are managing anxiety, coping with bereavement, navigating life transitions or working through relationship concerns. I also offer neurodiversity-affirming therapy for ADHD and autistic adults. Whatever you are facing, I am dedicated to providing the guidance and tools you need to thrive.

Feeling overwhelmed, burnt out or just not yourself?

Psychological support for men navigating the pressures of midlife, work, relationships and everything in between.

You may be the person everyone relies on.

Your career. Your family. Your responsibilities. You've spent years keeping everything moving — but lately, you're finding it harder to keep going.

Perhaps you're exhausted, constantly switched on, increasingly irritable, struggling to sleep or simply wondering where the enjoyment in life has gone.

You don't necessarily think of yourself as someone who needs therapy. You just know that something needs to change.

I offer a confidential, practical and supportive space to step back, understand what's happening and work out what comes next.

What Clients say

“The sessions with Laurent were very beneficial for me. He challenged my thinking and allowed me to dive into why I thought of things in a certain way. He also encouraged me to set goals and we always re-visited them and in making those seemingly small changes, they have made a world of difference to my mental and physical wellbeing. Very grateful”

“ The therapy sessions were offered with authentic empathy, non-judgement and exercises that helped me shift out of the gloom and back into the light”

“Laurent has a lovely supportive approach. We found him patient and to be a great listener. He takes the time to listen and give advice based on how you’re feeling. He doesn’t rush and takes time to assess your needs, what outcome you would like and expectations. I would highly recommend him”
